The Southern California Screenplay Competition Workshop is a three day screenwriting seminar that combines lectures, Q&A sessions with industry professionals and unique networking opportunities.

We encourage writers from all backgrounds and all levels of experience to attend the workshop. Whether you’re a first time screenwriter or a veteran of the competition and festival circuit, you will find our workshop to be an invaluable, productive learning experience. Our beautiful location promotes creativity, while establishing a perfect environment to hone your skills and develop your craft.

SoCal Screenplay founder,
Theo Davies, will conduct the lectures. Theo is a screenwriter, director and producer, and his most recent film, ‘Wish Man’ is available to watch across all streaming platforms, including Netflix. Theo is also a screenwriting and film production instructor with many years experience teaching both in London at Wimbledon College and Platt College in San Diego.

Our special guest speakers will share their professional expertise, host Q&A sessions and invite open discussion and conversation among the attendees. These guests include Jeffrey Reddick (Writer and Creator, Final Destination franchise), Jennifer Ambrose (Entertainment Attorney & Producer) and more.

Statement by SoCal Screenplay founder, Theo Davies: "The screenwriting workshop will be an informal, intimate, interactive experience. We'll combine lectures, guest speakers from the industry, and open discussions between everyone in attendance - both on stage and in the audience. You will find the atmosphere inspiring and the perfect environment in which to learn and develop your craft, and we'll do it all on first name terms!"
